Resistance equipment and free weight area
Resistance training is a type of exercise that will improve your muscle strength, size and tone. Helping to provide significant functional benefits and improvement in overall health and well being.
We have a wide range of muscle specific resistance training machines, each one aimed at a particular muscle or group of muscles. Each machine has a step by step guide to help make sure you use the machine correctly. If you are in any doubt, we have knowledgeable staff always available to ensure you know exactly what you’re doing.
We also have a comprehensive free weights section which is simple and safe to use and guaranteed to get you results quickly and efficiently.
Functional matted floor area
This is where we hold our classes. When there are no classes you can use the space. Our functional floor space is perfect for things like core workouts and stretching. Working on your core is especially important if you are hoping to sharpen up your abdominals and build a stronger base from which to develop other aspects of your fitness. Think of your core muscles as the sturdy central link in a chain connecting your upper and lower body.
Stretching will help you to maintain flexibility and retain the elasticity in your muscle fibres. This in turn will enable you to recover quicker and aid the repair of your muscles so that you can train again sooner and maintain a higher level of fitness. We have a variety of equipment to use in this functional space to help keep your workouts interesting and progressive. Again, if you need any help or wish to be shown some new exercises just ask a member of staff to help you.
Sauna
Using a dry sauna can provide several potential health benefits including: improved cardiovascular health by lowering blood pressure and increasing circulation, reduced stress and relaxation, pain relief from conditions like arthritis, improved skin health by opening pores and increasing blood flow, potential reduction in the risk of dementia, and may even help with exercise performance by improving muscle recovery and blood flow to muscles; however, it’s important to consult a doctor before using a sauna if you have any underlying health conditions.
